This is a fuchi in shakudo that is signed Kanenaga 兼永 , this being Watanabe Kanenaga.  Kanenaga was probably one of the Shoami artists of the late Edojidai.

                                                                                                                        TIGER FUCHIGASHIRA

                                                                                                                                       清畦根明

A very rich and deep shakudo. The kebori fine line carving is well executed with kiniroe gold overlay. After much research and discussion we have determined that the most likely name of this artist must be Seikei Motoaki 清畦根明. The damage to the kashira by a possible strike makes the carving appear flawed.
